Calgary Hacks 2022 - MyChef

Last weekend, I participated in the Calgary Hacks 2022 along with Ajay Arumugam, Tianhe Wang, Harry Dongheok Lee, and Dimitar Janevski.

During the 24-hour hackathon, we developed a solution to a problem that many students face: leading a healthy lifestyle. I have experienced this myself since fast food and food delivery options are super convenient and I have been struggling to get a nutritious diet every day that is home-cooked. Unhealthy food not only deteriorates physical health but also mental well-being.

To solve this, we came up with MyChef. We developed a web platform for students to order healthy meals from local cooks who prepare fresh food. The online platform provides various features to incentivize students to eat healthily and provides them with various dietary options. MyChef combines the convenience of ordering food online and promoting nutritious home-cooked food for students.

It was fun to work with my teammates and I learned a lot about rapid prototyping during the time-crunching deadline to present this solution. I am glad that with our team effort we got the “Most Innovative Idea” award out of 500+ participants! Thanks to the organizer of Calgary Hacks 2022, it was an amazing event.
